Noted on the live listing in October 2026. The listing has the final say.

The heavy version of the same idea. The corners are galvanized iron rather than cast aluminum, so the frame weighs more and sits where you put it. Four aluminum hangers with sealed bearings and two moulded seats on sixty-six inch chain come in the same carton. The five pieces of timber are yours.

Galvanized iron corners

Iron is the reason this kit is heavier than the aluminum one, and the reason a long beam over splayed legs feels dead solid rather than springy. The paint and the galvanising between them keep the weather off.

Aluminum hangers with bearings

The hangers stay aluminum even where the brackets are iron, because the loop is the part that moves. A sealed bearing inside each one carries the swing without steel grinding on steel over the seasons.

Seats, chain and hooks

Two EVA seats come on sixty-six inch zinc plated chain with thirty inches of thermoplastic sleeve on the hand end. The locking hooks at the top close onto the hanger so the chain cannot walk off.

Beam first, then the legs

Thread the top beam through both brackets on the ground, drill through the cast openings, bolt it, then fit the four legs and stand it up. An iron frame is heavy enough that the order matters more here than with the lighter kit.

Lumber stays with you

You buy five straight timbers locally and cut them to the height you want. Slide them into the sleeves rather than driving them in; forcing a snug post is what cracks a corner.
