Flour on the counter and masa ready to press. We cast the body from aluminum and put a bearing into the central column so the top plate swings down flat without binding. Stack the loose gaskets beneath it to change the gap from thin wrappers to thick rounds.

Adjustable column gap

Leave the post bare for thin skins or drop in up to four gaskets to raise the plate. The spacing controls how thick the masa or dough spreads before the handle bottoms out against the stop.

Bearing in the pivot

We set a bearing into the main hinge post to steady the top plate as you bring the lever down. It keeps the press quiet and stops the cast arm from twisting sideways across the counter.

Bronze cast aluminum

The two plates and the handle come out of the mold in aluminum with a bronze finish across the top. The metal gives you a flat surface that wipes down dry after the flour settles.

Sheets you supply

Cut two squares of butcher paper or baking parchment before you start pressing rounds. Lay one under the dough ball and one over the top so the mix peels away without sticking to the bare plates.
